But unlike the Small Faces song, this lazy Sunday afternoon was in mid-November. A quick trip to the shops saw us leave the car park during a brief shower after which the above rainbow appeared. We then drove into the new forest to have a Sunday roast at the Filly Inn just past Brockenhurst. This was our first visit here, but we will definitely be back. The carvery was superb and the helpings huge. The main menu also looked extremely well populated and very tempting. For £11.75 for carvery including a full choice of desserts it was also brilliant value.
Afterwards I had hoped to get some nice late autumn photos, but the weather was closing in and the sky wasn’t looking inviting. However, we did come across a couple of lovely miniature ponies who proved very friendly and were happy to pose for photos with us.
